Mr Yeoh Eng Yew

Eng Yew is is a successful executive coach who has helped many advance in their professional experiences through advising on their university and career applications. He also advises Scholars' Village on its tuition program, Olympiad program and student journalist program. He is popular for his passion, experience and approachability.
 
Most recently, he helped a Chinese national get into her top choice for MBA program - USC Marshall School of Business. He had also helped a Malaysian get into the INSEAD MBA Program, and a Singaporean NTU student into an investment banking internship at a top global investment bank. Both are now investment bankers based in Asian and London. His successful experience with different nationalities towards a variety of career goals has made him THE MAN to go to among professionals seeking to enhance their careers.
 
Eng Yew is a lifelong learner and contributor. He received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Stanford University, and has completed the CFA and FRM Examinations, while still on the ACCA and CFP programs. He is an active Committee Member of the CFA Society and Stanford Club of Singapore, and a co-founder of and advisor to the Asia-Pacific Student Entrepreneurship Society based at Stanford. He had also worked as the Asst Treasurer for the Kampong Ubi - Kembangan CCC and the ACCA-ICPAS Student Society.

In 2009, Eng Yew led Scholars' Village to support a number of worthy causes relating to talent development. In July, we sponsored Experiences '09 - a US universities fair, and offered pro bono career and university advice to students seeking higher education at top global universities. In August, we were a sponsor of the concert of Ms Tang Tee Khoon - a world-renowned home-grown Singapore violinist who plays the prestigious J.B. Guadagnini violin loaned from the National Arts Council. In the same month, we supported a school newsletter at St. Andrew's Junior College promoting social graciousness. Eng Yew is relentless and passionate in seeking out opportunities to support talent development.

Director of Olympiad Village

Mr Chua Wee Kang

Mr Chua coaches secondary school students for the International Junior Science Olympiad and conducts tutorial classes in the NUS Physics Department. For 5 years, he has given tuition and helped many students improve immensely on their understanding of Math, Physics and Chemistry. They have consistently achieved ‘A’s in their final exams, and Distinctions/Merits in their S Papers.

Mr Chua does research in quantum information theory and finance at NUS and has had his work published in top journals. One of the projects he contributed to even won the National Science Award.

Mr Chua graduated with honors in Physics from the California Institute of Technology, receiving the Caltech Carnation Merit Scholarship Award and the Dean's Letter of Commendation for outstanding academic achievements every year. He was subsequently awarded the Japanese Government Monbusho Scholarship for PhD studies at the University of Tokyo. Mr Chua was a gold medalist at the Singapore National Chemistry Olympiad and clinched a silver medal for Singapore in the International Chemistry Olympiad. Mr Chua is an alum of the Gifted Education Program.

Professor Sam K. Hui
Assistant Professor of Stern Business School, New York University

Professor Hui’s research interests focus on the interaction between marketing and statistics, the entertainment industry, Internet retailing and Bayesian models. In a recent paper, he examines shoppers’ paths in supermarkets by tracking their movements using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags.

Professor Hui is the recipient of the 2008 John Howard Dissertation Award; the 2007 AMA EXPLOR Award, recognizing the most innovative use of technology in advancing marketing research; and the 2007 Levy and Weitz Retailing Dissertation Proposal Award. Professor Hui received his B.S. in Mathematical and Computational Science, his M.S. in Statistics from Stanford University and his Ph.D. in Marketing from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
